Staple Pantry Food

Everyone has their favourite food and ingredients. Both of these may change over time (let me tell you how happy I am that a spoon full of butter, dipped in sugar sounds incredibly unappealing at this point in my life) but when you cook your own meals, there are several ingredients and products that will come in handy on a regular basis.

In the table below, you will find a list of my Truthful Food Pantry Staple Food and an indication of their estimated shelf-life when stored correctly. *The indicated shelf-life mentioned on your product is an indication of when it might go bad. If not stored correctly, however, food may spoil before the listed date. It is very important to note though, that your food doesn’t spoil as soon as it hits the expiration date. A lot of perfectly good food is thrown out, just because it has passed the expiration date. Make sure you know what to look for when you are checking to see if you need to throw out your food or if it is still safe to eat.
